FAQs:
Can I set up a startup if I am on a visa?
This depends on the conditions of your visa. While you’re welcome to attend Startup Basics and explore your ideas, starting a business may be restricted under certain visa types. We recommend reviewing your visa conditions and speaking with the Student Immigration Service for tailored advice.
Do I need to attend all sessions?
Startup Basics is delivered as a cohort programme, and we strongly encourage attending all 5 workshops to get the full experience. However, you're welcome to pick and choose the sessions most relevant to you. Each workshop lasts for 2 hours. An online version is also available in Semester 2 for digital learners.
What if I’ve missed some of the sessions? Will you be running the programme again?
Yes! We usually run Startup Basics twice each semester. If you've missed any sessions in the current cohort, you can view and register for upcoming ones here.
Do I need to have a business idea to take part?
Not at all! Startup Basics is for anyone - whether you're just curious about startups or already have an idea. If you do have an idea, the programme will help you take it further. If not, you can work on a sample business to learn the basics and build your confidence for the future.
