You will make the world we live in. Make it better.

By the end of your career, do you hope that you will have had a positive impact on the world?

Are you interested in aligning your research and interests with a mission of social & environmental sustainability?

Do you want to examine how others have done this, and how you might benefit from the examples they have set?

If you are a University of Edinburgh student, staff, or recent alumni and this strikes home for you, then join us for this hands on, interactive workshop on how you can define your personal mission and become a changemaker.

By the end of this session, we will have

  • Been inspired by personal and company mission statements
  • Examined these examples closely and discussed them
  • Outlined a similar statement for your own personal mission
  • Shared these with each other
  • Committed to take action

What is an impact economy?

The impact economy is driven by organisations, entrepreneurs and social enterprises that focus on addressing societal challenges and the public good, which are often linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

It’s time to start closing the gap between creating value for all stakeholders and the maximisation of shareholder profits, by placing the public good back at the centre of our economy.
