Event Description {{detailsExpanded ? '- Show Less' : '+ Show More'}}

This workshop dedicated to academic staff engaged in development of solutions to address the climate & environment crisis.

Join Joe Murphy, Innovation Executive at Edinburgh Innovations, for a workshop on scoping and validating early-stage translational ideas. This session will explore topics such as market needs and how to quantify them, “patentability” and how to analyse prior art, and whether there is space and opportunity for a new product in a given market.

This session will give you an overview of specialist tools such as Pitchbook, Global Data, and Espacenet, and how you can navigate them to pre-empt and answer salient questions often posed by funding panels and investors. Supercharge your application writing skills with these valuable tools and templates for showcasing your ideas.

This interactive workshop is designed to help you test and develop an idea that addresses climate change and related environmental sustainability challenges. Your idea doesn’t need to be fully formed, just something you are curious to explore.

There are 10 places available.

Academics with an innovative idea to address climate change and related environmental sustainability challenges through the launch of a new technology, product, or service in the market will benefit most from this workshop (even if the idea is at a very early stage), so places will be prioritised on this basis.

If you are interested to attend, please complete the short expression of interest below by Friday 27th March.
