The University of Edinburgh has committed to become zero carbon by 2040. Through a whole institution approach covering learning and teaching, research, operations, investments and partnerships; the Climate Change Strategy 2016 – 2026 has been the framework to progress this bold vision.

Since the creation of this strategy the narrative surrounding Net Zero Carbon and Sustainability in higher education has moved on significantly. To continue leading the way in tackling climate change and sustainability, the University would like to invite our staff, students and stakeholders to offer their views on our current climate strategy.

Through holding consultations with the University community, we aim to reflect and build upon the outstanding work-to-date, and explore the potential of a refreshed Climate Change Strategy that reinforces strong and lasting contributions to address the climate crisis and other planetary emergencies.

This workshop is open to current students. Join the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability for the opportunity to help us explore what a strategy 2.0 could look like.
